My taste buds are simple. You could put a $16 plate and a $32 plate of tagliatelle in front of me and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Well at least, that was the case before I stepped foot inside Osteria Mozza... This fine dining establishment received their first Michelin star in 2009, and retained it in 2019 and 2021-2023. Just behind Providence, which has received recognitions every year the L.A. guide has been published so far. Let's go straight to the food. We started the evening with the Mozzarella di Bufala Tasting, which was a sampling of three cheeses served with fett'unta (toasted sourdough). The plain buffalo mozzarella was creamy, the burrata was rich, and the smoked mozzarella was outstanding. The bread was perfectly toasted yet still had fluffiness to it. Nancy Silverton is truly the bakery queen! Our old plates were exchanged for new ones and we received a clean set of cutlery. Pappardelle - wide ribbons of pasta served with a tasty lamb ragù Tagliatelle - best tagliatelle I've had? Sure was! The accompanying oxtail ragù was luxurious Orecchiette - ear-shaped pasta with fennel sausage & Swiss chard Garganelli - ridged tubes of al dente noodles paired with a classic bolognese New plates and utensils again. They better have a commercial dishwasher in the back. Grilled Whole Branzino with the Calabrian chillies seasoning was flakey and flavorful! Fennel Rubbed Pork Chop was juicy and aromatic, while the grilled 8 oz. medium rare Beef Tagliata was a tender, melt-in-your-mouth experience. We liked the secondi more than the primi but it was phenomenal overall. The #1 complaint in prior reviews is the saltiness, but we didn't think any of the dishes were overly salty except the orecchiette. That dish was still good. No leftovers to take home!

Having only come to Osteria Mozza during the pandemic, I had been clamoring for a true dining experience here. Something always seemed to get in the way of it. But I finally decided for my anniversary that I would make it happen! Obviously, I did not get the full Osteria Mozza experience as the pandemic menu was a hybrid of Osteria Mozza and Pizzeria Mozza's greatest hits. So this time, I finally got my chance to order off the full menu. See below: 1. Nancy's Favorite Trio: See this is what I missed during the pandemic. The full Mozzarella di Bufala treatment with anchovies, semi-dried tomato, and cruschi peppers with fett'unta. I loved all of them honestly. That mozzarella was so tasty, yet light. My favorite had to be the one with the anchovies. 2. Burrata: Couldn't come here without grabbing some burrata right? I expected great burrata at such an esteemed Italian restaurant, and it hit the mark for sure. 3. Grilled Octopus: My biggest fear with octopus is that it's not cooked very well and is too chewy. Not the case here! This was cooked so well that it was crispy on the outside, yet had some texture on the inside. Really well done. 4. Tagliatelle: The one dish that I had to get again because it was so damn good. The Tagliatelle is one of Osteria Mozza's signature dishes, and rightfully so. Noodles were light, the sauce was perfect, and the oxtail ragu was a great complement. 5. Orechiette: This fennel sausage and Swiss chard pasta had a far more savory taste to it. Different from what I'm used to, but I liked it a lot. 6. Pork Shank: Was deciding between several meat entrées, but went with this because it's not every day you can get a good pork shank. Man this was cooked SO well. Everything fell off the bone. Great flavor to this. 7. Tiramisu: Probably the biggest tiramisu I have ever had. Very good. Service here was absolutely fantastic. Our server took time to go through our different options, and actually helped us decide on the pork shank. We were well taken care of all night. Helped us take a picture outside with their Michelin one star plaque! Ambience is pretty nice. Not the biggest space, so the tables are a bit clustered together. We had the option of sitting at the mozzarella bar, but opted for a table. Surprisingly not that loud though, the high ceilings helped with that. And as people started clearing out, it got a lot quieter. Parking is either street parking or valet parking. Luckily was able to find street parking on Highland. Glad I finally got a chance to dine at the real Osteria Mozza. Definitely deserves its one star!

The restaurant has been here for ages and I drove past it all the time going to work. But tried it after many years and not disappointed. All the food was good. The drinks were well made and most important strong! The only true standout dish for me was the Olive oil cake for desert with olive oil ice cream. The pastas were well made and flavorful. The steaks were well seasoned and cooked well. Overall no complaints but I was hoping for a standout savory dish that screamed I'd come back for this. Still great service, it's a smaller restaurant and packed as they try to maximize seating. I get it and don't mind.

Been wanting to try this spot for quite some time. I met up with a friend for dinner. We did have to wait a bit despite having reservations. Our server was great and throughly explained the menu to us. We started with the mozzarella di bufula tasting which was amazing. The cheese was delicious and the garlic bread served with it was incredible. We got the arugula salad next which was good but a bit too much cheese for my liking. The server suggested the garganelli with bolognese which was also good. Ended off dinner with the most amazing tiramisu. Overall the food was really good. Parking is a pain in the area so be prepared to pay for valet.

We wanted to try the best dishes so we had the waiter surprise us with the house favorites. Excellent service and delicious food. Everything was excellent aside from someone stealing one of our umbrellas during the pouring rain.

From the moment we arrived, to the very end, there was attentiveness to detail. My wife and I were celebrating my birthday tonight. The hostess wished me a happy birthday upon entering, and there was a mini card waiting for me on the table acknowledging my special day as well. While it was nothing extraordinary, it's little things like that which add up to make an evening more special and give you an excellent first impression before the food or anything else transpires. The food was phenomenal. I got the Tagliatelle, while my wife got the Cavatelli. For our entrees we got the Beef tagliata, along with the duck. Everything was cooked to perfection. The beef was super tender and actually cooked to my medium rare request (something a lot of restaurants fail to do these days, somehow). The pastas were great and my wife loved the crispy duck. For dessert, we got the olive oil/ rosemary cake. I never would've ordered that, but my wife really wanted to try it. I ended up having a bite and I was even surprised at how much I enjoyed it. "I'm not going to have any" turned into many bites! Our server Shawn was also great. He came back at the right times; he never left us hanging and ensured food allergies were abided by. All in all, this was the perfect bday dinner and we're so glad we got to enjoy it at this fine place.

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. The food literally melts in your mouth. The truffle ravioli is some type of witchcraft. The staff always make incredible recommendations on wine and food pairings. It's the perfect place for a special occasion and a foodie paradise.

My friend decided to take me here for my birthday and this place did not disappoint in Italian food! Food - We settled for the Grilled Octopus, Burrata and Grilled Octopus, Ricotta & Egg Raviolo, Garganelli, and Beef Tagliata. We wanted to try out at least one item per page and everything was good! My only issue would have been the Ricotta & Egg Raviolo being very small but we ordered so much food that we didn't mind it. Service - Service was great, we had two servers with the first one helping out our main server. They were both friendly and answered all of our needs since we had so many questions for a new restaurant Ambiance - Somewhat loud but not overbearing, Getting through the restaurant was a bit cramped but it was no problem. I would most definitely come back to this place to try out other items or the other two restaurants connected to this one. It's also part of the same company!
